Grade 3 & 4 students are learning the Chinese words for the Months of the Year. They played a reading game where they had to pick a card and read the word written on it to a classmate. When they found someone with the same word, they played 'paper, scissors, rock' to decide who could keep both of the cards. The purpose of the game is to find as many matching cards as possible. They certainly had a lot of fun socialising and practising their reading skills. See the photos below.Grade 3 - 6 students were very keen on using the Quizlet App to help them learn new words. They got really excited about playing Quizlet Live where they teamed up with other classmates and played against other teams.
Welcome to the Year of the Tiger in the Chinese Zodiac.
It was great to see the students back at school looking happy and ready to learn. They practised giving and accepting red packets while they greeted each other. Here are the photos of the Grade 5 students having fun while practising in class. Students in Prep, Grade 1 and 2 are very happy to return to school after Lockdown 6. They enjoyed learning outside as much as being inside of their classrooms.

The Grade 1s made a paper puppet and used them to describe their feelings (see photo below). The Grade 2s practised counting to 30 and collectively made a class number chart as a display in their classrooms.
The Grade 3 - 6 students have finished this year's Chinese language study. This week they learnt about how the Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated in the Chinese community. Grade 3 and 4 students also made a paper dragon boat and Grade 5 and 6 students made a Dragon Boat card. All students worked really hard and made excellent progress this semester. As they will not be studying Chinese until next year, it is important for them to maintain their language practice. Please encourage your children to access some of the resources that they have used from time to time. chinesetpps.weebly.com/websites.html Grade 3 students are proud of their paper dragon boats. Grade 4 students are very excited about their win during the Quizlet Live game.
