In weeks 8, 9 and 10, Grades 1 and 2 are exploring traditional dances and cultural celebrations from all around the world, in celebration of Harmony Week. Students are learning about corroborees - traditional Aboriginal celebrations - and are creating their own class corroborees.
Students are also learning about 'circle' and 'contra' dances from countries including Greece, the USA, the UK and France and exploring these types of dance and celebrations in their weekly Performing Arts lessons.

It's been a busy start to the year in Performing Arts. Students from Grades 2-5 have been busy attending trials for Choir and Percussion Club and are now settling in to regular rehearsals. ![]() Percussion Club is now running in 4-week blocks, due to an overwhelming interest from students! For the remainder of Term 1, a selection of students in Grades 4 and 5 are preparing for a surprising and fun performance. Keep your eyes peeled! In Term 2, different students from Grades 2-5 will have an opportunity to get involved in Percussion Club. |
