This week at our TPPS Open Evening, our 2-5 Choir was very excited to perform for the first time since before COVID lockdowns. The choir performed an exciting and powerful version of Jessie J's "Price Tag". The Grade 2/3 students in the Percussion Club also performed for the first time, with a tune we couldn't help dancing along to, "Dance Monkey". The Grade 4/5 students in Percussion Club got to reprise their song "Pirates of the Caribbean" for a fantastic finish to the spectacular night. All our wonderful performers at TPPS had a lot of fun performing for their friends, family and school community.
Students have been learning how to play music by reading musical notes and listening to singing. Our instrument this term is the glockenspiel, and Grade 1 & 2 students have been exploring the different parts of the instrument, including how to hold the mallets and get the best sound out of the instrument. Small groups have been playing in time with each other and performing songs to other students in the class. Here is a video of a group practising a short song on the glockenspiel! |
