The students were given a piece of A3 cartridge paper and directed to place it in the portrait layout in front of them. Next I directed the students to draw particular shapes on their paper in certain positions. When the students turned their paper around, they discovered that they had drawn a monster! Twistables and coloured pencils were used to add colour. Today the students used paint markers to add dots to the background of their monster piece.

The students have drawn the skeleton of a dandelion. They have used cotton tips to add spots of colour to the end of the lines making these lovely pieces.
The students have completed some outside drawings with special chalks, because it has been such great weather today!
The students have drawn animals, then used a limited colour palette of textas to colour these drawings in. They have been inspired by Piet Mondrian and his geometric paintings.
The students have brainstormed warm and cool colours. They have drawn basic overlapping shapes on their pages, then started to block in the colours using either warm or cool water colour paints. Today the students used the opposite colour palette to block in their background.
Today in Art Prep S thought of ideas for their watercolour paintings. They were able to choose whether to draw with a grey led first or just go for it with the paint. These are some pictures of the works in progress.
The students have learnt a little about Remembrance Day and the traditions associated with this special day. They have constructed their own poppy badge which will be laminated for them to wear.
The students have learnt how to draw cakes that have had a slice cut from them. They have used oil pastels in layers to start to decorate the cakes, starting to make them look delicious! Today the students used colour pencils and twistables to add another plate or just add embellishments to their pieces from last week. PVA was used as glue to affix their collages to the background colour paper.
The students have looked at the paintings of Claude Monet and used them as the inspiration for these paper sculptures. They have learnt different folding techniques and applied these to their pieces. Today the students took the sculptures to another level and added waterfalls and ponds.
