The students have been given a section of the collaborative artwork from open night. They have brainstormed things that could be added with texta to the drawings to make them more interesting.

After completing a professional development session at Zart Art we have made modifications to our legcy project. The students have worked within the new design parameters to design one large or two small mosaic for out ‘invasion’.
The students have drawn organic lines on named paper plates. They have used cool colours to make these plates resemble a lily pond. Next they divided their paper into two sections and used warm / cool coloured crayons and watercolour paints for decoration. These will be combined next term…
The students stencilled teddy bears onto hessian. They have used pieces of wool to sew a simple running stitch around their bear.
We have read the book ‘Solomon and Mortimer’ by Catherine Rayner. Together we discussed the characteristics of crocodiles, then drew a couple of practise ones ourselves. Next the students used a black crayon to outline a larger version on A3 paper. The students used watercolour paints to add colour to the crocodile pictures from last week.
The students have been talking about Primary Colours. They have used crayons layered together to create these pictures.
The students used copy paper to draw a teddy bear. Next they cut out the bear and placed it on top of hessian. They used acrylic paints to stencil around the outside of the bear carefully.
The students have painted on the reverse of a paper plate with acrylic paints. They placed the acrylic paint side down on their paper to take a print and thus create a planet. Today the students used special markers to add ‘space’ details to their prints from last session.
The students studied artworks by David Bromley and discussed his imagery. They drew a butterfly with black watercolour markers and made them quite patterned. Next session the students drew with markers onto a sheet of alfoil. Next they squirted their paper with water and placed their butterfly picture over the top, thus taking a print from the alfoil. Today the students used oil slicks to add colour to their butterflies. Grade 4 students had the opportunity to add sequins to their butterflies as extra embellishments.
The students started out by painting a couple of sheets of A3 paper with acrylic paint. In the following week the students chose their best painting and then used cut up Japanese Kimono screens as stencils to ‘stipple’ the paint through. The students used images of their own pets, or those they would love to have today. They used carbon paper to transfer their image, then sharpie markers over the top. Today the students used metallic paints to ‘feather’ around the outside of their animal, thus drawing attention to the animal it surrounds. Today the students used a variety of markers to add detail to their work. These included Street art markers, posca sand sharpies.
